Please note: Although they may look cute, never try to feed or disturb the monkeys. They are wild animals and can become aggressive if they feel threatened.

Location and How to Get to the Monkey Forest

The Monkey Forest is located in Ubud, Bali. Ubud itself is known as the center of arts and culture in Bali. To reach the Monkey Forest, you can use private transportation or public transportation. 
If you are bringing your own vehicle, the journey from Denpasar to Ubud takes approximately one hour. You can use a navigation app to find the fastest route. Or, you can take a public bus or taxi from Denpasar to Ubud. Once you arrive in Ubud, you can continue your journey on foot, or use a GoJek / Grab Bike to reach the Monkey Forest.

Best time to visit

The best time to visit the Monkey Forest is in the morning or late afternoon. Bali’s weather is generally hot and humid year-round, but mornings and evenings tend to be cooler. Avoid visiting the Monkey Forest during the hot midday sun as the temperature can be very high and make you uncomfortable.
